Chromadek Modular Buildings

Prefabricated homes are a large category of homes including chromadek modular buildings, paneling and modular homes. The light weight durable modular homes & buildings are a faster solution to on site homes or offices. Panels are easy to handle and are ideal for the speedy erection of almost any type of building. We cater for modular homes in South Africa and other parts of Africa, we have completed numerous modular homes in South Africa and with experience in the industry offer quality and value for money.

Base Rail
A galvanised rail overlapping the foundation is fixed to the slab.

Wall Panels
0.5 mm Chromadek sheets are used for external cladding and are bonded to a polystyrene core. These panels are fitted into 1.2 mm galvanised top channels and base rail fixed to the concrete slab, this form the extremely strong durable and water-proof wall of the modular buildings. The insulating values of these walls are better than a single brick walls and safe in case of fire compared to certain polyurethane insulated materials that gives off deadly gasses.

Roofs and Ceilings
Depending on the purpose of the modular buildings, either timber or light weight steel trusses with a 20° pitch and gypsum suspended ceilings are used for pitched roofs, or pre-bonded sandwich panels with chromadek steel ceilings on the inside, and IBR profile sheets on the outside. These sandwich roof panels can be installed at a minimum of 7°. Depending on the span, 50 – 100 mm thick pre-bonded sandwich panels are used.

Windows
Various sizes Aluminium windows are available to customize your buildings.

Doors
All external and Internal doors are chromadek clad with polystyrene core. We only use 3 lever door locks.

Electrical Installation
A pre-manufactured harness approved by Escom and the SABS complete with all plugs, lights and a D/B board is supplied.

Plumbing Installation
All plumbing fittings such as taps, copper pipes, geysers, ceramic toilets, hand wash basins, showers and baths are supplied.
